Sketchbook Assignment #3For this assignment, I chose the prompt to create your own playing card. I really like turtles, so I decided to use a turtle as my subject. Within the turtle's shell, I made a little wave. Surrounding the turtle, I used little half circles to represent ripples of water. I used all ink for this.

Jug of PaintFor this project, I started off with vine and the HB charcoal pencil. After getting a basic outline and some shading, I added color to it. I shaded with the color in the same way as I shaded with the charcoal. I then added a more defining outline of the jug in certain spots. I then added some color in the background.

Glass BottleFor this project I used mostly vine. I started out with an already smudged up background just to start off with value in the background. I outlined the bottle shape with the maped eraser. I put the shadows of the water inside next. After that I added in the moments where there was light reflected in the bottle. I also added some cast shadows around the bottom of the bottle with also making the background darker to differentiate between the background and the bottle.
